Volac at UK Dairy Day 2021: Some highlights from our day

After almost two years without any in-person events, the Volac team headed to UK Dairy Day on Wednesday 15th September 2021. From showcasing some of our products and spreading our message on sustainability, to getting to see our customers face-to-face, here are some of our highlights from the day.

UK Dairy Day is an annual one-day dairy event with seminars, cattle shows, trade stands, and plenty of industry bodies.  Held at the International Centre in Telford, Shropshire, in September, perfectly timed to help the industry to focus on plans and decisions for the autumn/winter season.

The Volac team was, of course, there to represent the Feed For Growth, Megalac and Ecosyl brands, and to share our knowledge on topics ranging from nutrition to sustainability.

The aim of the day

For us, it was incredible to get back on the ground and chat with farmers within the community, make new connections, and have the chance to see old friends in the industry. Alongside this, our aim for the day was to promote what is at the heart of everything we do at Volac: efficiency and sustainability.

At Volac, we believe in meeting the needs of our customers without compromising our ability to meet the needs of future customers. That means that our products, and the way in which we create them, need to reflect our commitment to sustainability. Read more about our mission here >>>

Some of our highlights on the day

It’s hard for us to pick just a few highlights from the day but we’ve managed to narrow it down…

Speaking to customers, new and old

After such a long time with no in-person events, it was great to see some familiar faces at UK Dairy Day, and meet new friends, too. We loved chatting nutrition, efficiency, and sustainability with farmers, merchants, and trade bodies.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to talk to us on the day.

David Neville’s Cattle Class

UK Dairy Day hosted the National Shows for Holstein, Ayrshire, Brown Swiss and Guernsey, and we were proud to sponsor one of the classes.

Managing Director of Volac’s Animal Nutrition business, David Neville, presented the Ayreshire Junior Heifer in Milk class. We’re always proud to play an active role in the farming community – congratulations to everyone who took part.

Showcasing our latest product

Our Business Manager, Jason, showed off ImunoGard® in the New Product Zone. Since launching our latest product, we haven’t had the chance to show it off in person, so we enjoyed the opportunity to chat about ImunoGard® and answer your questions about its characteristics and benefits.

Backed by research, ImunoGard® contains a unique blend of protein, fat, and essential amino acids that help to build the immune system, maximise the way energy is metabolised, and ensuring optimum growth and development.

Quiz time!

We couldn’t let an event slip by without quizzing anyone and everyone. Not only did we challenge visitors to our stand to test their knowledge on sustainability, but we also quizzed the Volac team on it! Keep your eyes peeled for a video summary, we’ll be sharing them with you soon…

One of our key themes of the day was sustainability, so we just had to ask visitors to our stand to guess which palm oil was sustainable. Can you tell the difference?

We’ll give you a hint: there’s no way to tell just by looking. It’s all in the process!

At Volac, helping the farming community is at the heart of everything we do, and we wholeheartedly believe that this should come without the exploitation of people, the environment or the future of farming. That’s why we only use responsibly sourced palm oil and palm oil derivatives.

A huge thank you

Thank you to everyone who came up to say hi to us at the show, visited Jason in the New Product Zone, or watched David presenting a cattle class award. It was incredible to see so many of you in person, whether for the first time or the first time in a while.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at the next one! In the meantime, view our highlights here:
